The Turkish Film Festival is in its seventh year, once again at the High Museum of Arts.

The 2007 festival was hosted at the High Museum of Arts. The films that were shown weekly, from October 5th to October 14th, 2007:

  • Destiny / Kader (2006, Zeki Demirkubuz)
  • Climates / Iklimler (2006, Nuri Bilge Ceylan)

The 2006 festival was hosted at the High Museum of Arts. The films that were shown weekly, from April 1 to April 29, 2006:

  • Crossing the Bridge: The Sound of Istanbul / Istanbul'un Sesleri (2005, Fatih Akin)
  • Lovelorn / Gonul Yarasi (2005, Yavuz Turgul)
  • Boats out of Watermelon Rinds / Karpuz Kabugundan Gemiler Yapmak (2004, Ahmet Ulucay)
  • Istanbul Tales / Anlat Istanbul (2005, 5 directors)

The 2005 festival was hosted by GATECH at the Instruction Center. The films that were shown weekly, from April 2 to April 29, 2005:

  • Vizontele Tuuba (2004, Yilmaz Erdogan),
  • La Finestra di Fronte / Facing Windows (2003, Ferzan Ozpetek)
  • Under Construction / Insaat (2003, Omer Vargi)
  • Gegen die Wand / Duvara Karsi (2004, Fatih Akin)

The 2004 festival took place at the High Museum of Arts. The films that were shown weekly, on March 27th and April 3rd:

  • Uzak (2002, Nuri Bilge Ceylan),
  • Vizontele (2001, Yilmaz Erdogan)

The 2003 festival took place at the High Museum of Arts. The films that were shown weekly, from April 5 to May 3, 2003:

  • Fate (2001, Zeki Demirkubuz),
  • Confession (2001, Zeki Demirkubuz),
  • Propaganda (1998, Sinan Cetin),
  • Rain Drop (1998, Zeki Okten) and
  • Summer Love (2001, Baris Pirhasan).

The 2002 festival took place at the White Hall, at Emory University campus with co-sponsorship of the Department of Middle Eastern Studies. The films that were shown weekly, from March 29 to April 26, 2002 are:

  • Vizontele (2001, Yilmaz Erdogan),
  • Elephants and Grass (2000, Dervis Zaim),
  • The Republic (1998, Ziya Ozkan),
  • Balailaka (2000, Ali Ozgenturk) and
  • The Singer (2000, Ersin Pertan).

We hope to continue presenting select movies from the contemporary Turkish cinema in the coming years.
